Suez Canal Welcomes the World’s Largest Containership
On August 28, the 24,000 TEU Ever Ace, crossed the Suez Canal for the first time as the largest containership on record. It is 400m long and 61.5m wide, can carry 23,992 containers and weighs a total 235,000 tons.
The captain and crew were greeted after its successful passing, and The Suez Canal Authority (SCA) posted the photo on social media.
The vessel sailed off in early August 2021 from the Port of Taipei, as it continues its maiden voyage heading to Europe.
