Ever Forward Free After Month Grounded in Maryland
Container Ship Ever Forward Free After Long Month
Ever Forward, a Taiwan-based cargo ship that has been grounded in the Chesapeake Bay of Maryland, United States, since March 13th, was recently freed on April 17th.
After two failed attempts to re-float the 334-meter long vessel, salvors began unloading containers from it on April 9th to help lighten its weight.
Seven vessels in total were used to dislodge the ship, including five tugboats and two barges. Combined with the lightened load and the assistance of a high tide, the effort to re-float the vessel was finally successful.
