Five more plead guilty in USCG exam-fixing scandal
Total of 26 convicted for United States Coast Guard exam fraud and fixing.
The US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Louisiana has announced that five more defendants have pleaded guilty to exam test score-fixing at a United States Coast Guard exam centre.
The latest guilty pleas bring the total number of defendants prosecuted to 26. The individuals include serving members of the USCG, employees of the testing centre, intermediaries and applicants who used the falsified scores to obtain USCG licences and employment.
Of the five, Alonzo Williams, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to defraud the United States. Four other individuals, Alexia Lovett, Fredrick Nettles, Stinson Payne, and Shunmanique Willis, each admitted to using false exam scores to obtain unearned licenses.
