Ghana Set to Dish Out Fines for Unvaccinated on Vessels
P&I Club Gard Warns of Fines for Unvaccinated Crew on Vessels in Ghana
In an alert of a process that originally was set to begin on January 15 yet has been postponed to an undetermined date to allow for grace period, is the announcement from P&I Club Gard to warn that Ghana Port Health Service is on notice to impose a fine of $3,500 for any arriving vessel to the country that contains unvaccinated passengers or crew.
What has not been determined yet is if the fee is to apply to the vessel itself or if the fine is imposed on each unvaccinated passenger or crew member.
Arriving vessels are on notice that once those fees have been paid, a Johnson & Johnson vaccination is expected to be administered by the local health authority. More on this process is expected to be announced.
