Expansion of Tanker Fleet for Hafnia

On January 27 Singapore-based Hafnia announced they’d acquired a total of 44 vessels from Chemical Tankers and Scorpio Tankers combined.

32 product/chemical tankers and 12 LR1 tankers in total were purchased bringing the tanker shipping company to owning 152 vessels in total.

Hafnia’s CEO, Mikael Skov said, “These transactions cement our position as the world’s largest operator in the product and chemical tanker segment. The 44 new vessels are all compliant with the 2023 EEXI requirements and bring Hafnia closer to achieving IMO’s 2030 carbon intensity goal by 2028.”
