Seattle Shipyard Foss Maritime To Close Permanently

The permanent closure of Seattle-based Foss Maritime was announced to be recognized as of October 30, 2021.

Which once used to offer vessel repairs and construction, Foss Maritime struggled with the decision as it affected an approximate 115 employees who worked at the yard yet, they will still receive salary, benefits, and overtime wages through the end of the year.

The President of Foss Maritime stated, “While the closure of the Seattle shipyard is a strategic decision for the future of Foss, it is not a decision we have taken lightly,” he continued “We have employees and families who have been with us for decades; our priority is assisting them in this transition.”
