New windfarm blade factory at Redcar
PD Ports says it is “delighted” that a new windfarm blade factory will be opening at its Teesside site.
Hartlepool port operator, PD Ports, has said that it welcomes the announcement by GE Renewable Energy to bring its blade manufacturing plant to the Teesworks site at Reddcar.
The new multi-million pound factory will build blades for the Dogger Bank wind farm that lies around 80 miles off the UK’s east coast and will create 750 new jobs for the Hartlepool region. The project also includes work for Able UK.
The addition of the new blade manufacturing facility will build on the work in the offshore industry being done throughout the region, say the management at PD Ports and will become part of the area’s new “green revolution”.
