Piraeus Witness to new Fleet Operating Centre from RINA
RINA boosts its presence in Greece with a novel Fleet Operating Centre (FOC) in Piraeus
Italian ship classification society RINA has ramped up its presence in the Saronic Gulf by setting up a new FOC or Fleet Operating Centre there, as reported by Seatrade Maritime News.
This centre will pave the way for better monitoring of RINA classed vessels globally.
Commenting on the development, Paolo Moretti, CEO of RINA Services, stressed on the way shipping services – especially class societies like RINA are evolving, with increased emphasis placed on data analysis and monitoring.
Greek shipowners and other stakeholders will especially be able to take advantage of this centre.
RINA’s dedication towards this centre is apparent from its relocated appointment to Greece of Marine Business Deputy EVP, Massimo Volta.
Eventually, the center will pave the way for a multitude of possibilities, including real-time integration of ship certificates and records from multiple locations onto a single platform.
