Hapag-Lloyd Aims to Boost its Asian Connections
The Middle East and the Indian sub-continent are major focus areas for the company to boost its shipping lines
As reported in a news release from the company, German shipping and container giant Hapag-Lloyd aspires for a significant uptake on its shipping routes to Asia, with a particular focus on the Middle East as well as the Indian sub-continent.
These include its:
- IOS or Indian Ocean Service
- GEM or Gulf East Mediterranean Service, and
- IMX or Indian Subcontinent Mediterranean Express
Further, a new IOS 3 line is also in the pipeline.
All these services are scheduled for next month, viz. January 2021.
Eventually, these connections should pave the way for a wider range of connections across ports on the route.
Additionally, these routes are expected to curtail transit times from Northern Europe as well as the Mediterranean region, onto both the Middle East and the Indian sub-continent.
