Wallenius Wilhelmsen reponds to demand at the Port of Gothenburg
Wallenius strikes a positive note and announces it is ramping up operations in Sweden’s busiest port.
Wallenius Wilhelmsen, one of the world’s largest ro-ro carriers has announced that it is increasing the frequency of its sailing to the Port of Gothenburg, and offering more destinations to and from the port.
“After a rough patch during 2020 we now have vessels in our global fleet back in traffic globally. Today, demand is bigger than in a long time and our vessels depart fully loaded,” said Nikolai Nymoen, General Manager at Wallenius Wilhelmsen in Sweden.
The company was able to maintain its sailings of four per month during the pandemic and will now offer six sailings a month, with direct services from Gothenburg to the west coast of the USA, including Port Hueneme and Tacoma.
Nymoen added, “we are expanding our offering in response to the market. The situation is looking bright with increased volumes among our contract customers and more enquiries on the spot market…”.
