Injuries Reported After US Navy Helicopter Crash During Landing
Virginia State Police reported on January 12 while making an emergency landing, a US Navy MH-60S helicopter slid into the wood line nearby Norfolk, Virginia damaging the front cockpit area and causing injuries to one of the three occupants inside who was later taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
A police statement read, “The craft struck several trees sustaining damage to the front cockpit area and both sides of the landing skids.”
The US Navy has taken over the investigation.
“The care and well-being of our crew remains our top priority and we will investigate the cause of this incident,” said Navy spokesman Lt. Cmdr. Robert Myers.
