$8m in Funding for Navigational Efficiency to Port of Long Beach
Port of Long Beach Will Use $8m for Infrastructure Improvements
The Port of Long Beach is on the direct receiving end of US$8 million Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funding which will initially be given to the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to use for improvements at the port from a recent bill signed by President Joe Biden.
The funds will be used in a myriad of ways to improve navigational efficiency from effective ways to transport through the harbor, reducing pollution, cutting costs of transportation, and faster transport time of goods.
The mayor of Long Beach Robert Garcia said, “The federal bipartisan infrastructure bill President Biden signed last month is having a direct impact in Long Beach,” she continued, “With US$8 million in direct funding to the port, we continue our partnership with the federal government to address supply chain challenges.”
