Six New LNG Tankers for TEN
Greek-based TEN Orders Six New LNG Tankers
A new agreement was made for six LNG-powered tankers between Greek-based Tsakos Energy Navigation (TEN) and what would be the highest ever for South Korean Daehan Shipbuilding valued at KRW 500b ($417 million).
Although the order is on hold due to the sudden rise in steel prices that have just about increased double since last year, it will include four Aframax crude oil carriers and two optional LR2 petroleum product carriers and all vessels will have the capability of being dual-fueled with running on LNG and conventional fuel.
Ships are not expected to begin construction until late 2022.
