MPA Invests in Thome for Maritime Marketplace

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), has awarded a grant to Thome Ship Management, based in Singapore, for the creation of a new online maritime supply marketplace. The marketplace is intended to improve efficiency between consumers and suppliers, as well as provide cost transparency.

Thome has already obtained contracts from suppliers of the main shipping supply necessities.

Vice President of Supply Chain Thome Ship Management, Peter Schellenberger, said, “The aim of this project is to create an Amazon-like marketplace where ship operators will have access to fair pricing with good geographical coverage of supply.”
