MSC launches new “Sentosa” service between SE Asia and the US
Boxship line, MSC, has announced the launch of a new container service between south east Asia and the US
MSC‘s new transpacific route has been launched under the moniker “Sentosa”. The new service will run between south east Asia and the US, and aims to catalyze trade between countries such as Thailand, Vietnam and the USA.
Transpacific routes remain under considerable pressure and MSC hopes to improve cargo delivery reliability and transit times with the service. The company will retain a Laem Chabang-Long Beach call in both directions, which will compensate for the removal of a Laem Chabang-US call on its Jaguar service.
The new service is expected to commence in early April with the MSC Ornella. The vessel’s rotation will be Singapore – Tanjung Pelepas – Laem Chabang – Vung Tau – Long Beach – Shanghai – Ningbo – Xiamen – Singapore.
