Vega Reederei signs order for four boxships with Yangfan Group
Germany’s Vega Reederei returns to newbuilding market after securing four slots with China’s Yangfan Group.
Hamburg-based Vega Reederei has placed orders for four 1,868-teu containerships with China’s Yangfan Group.
This is not the first time Vega has used Yangfan — the company bought a series of boxships from the Zhejiang-based yard prior to the financial crisis.
The new vessels are designed by the Shanghai Merchant Ship Design and Research Institute and will have standard Bangkokmax dimensions with a length of 172-m length and 27.5-m beam.
Two of the ships are slated for delivery in October and November 2022, and two in December of 2023.
