Category 3 Typhoon Chanthu Strikes Philippines and Taiwan
Taiwan Cleans Up After Category 3 Typhoon Chanthu
A category 3 typhoon ravaged through Philippines’ northern islands on September 12, leaving thousands of people without power along with flooded homes and streets.
A resident of Sabtang said, “It’s one of the strongest typhoons I’ve felt.”
At one point, the typhoon was listed as a category 5 but decreased in intensity on Saturday before coming in contact with the northern area.
As of yet, no casualties have been noted with more than 11,000 affected from the destruction.
Typhoon Chanthu continued on its path past Taiwan only listed as a Tropical Storm Risk with only adding heavy rains to the island.
