Gigawatt-scale offshore wind farm for Sweden
Zephyr Vind is planning to build a gigawatt-scale wind power project that will incorporate floating and fixed-bottom turbines.
Zephyr Vind has announced that it plans to apply for permits next year to build a large-scale wind farm off the Swedish coast, and aims to complete the project by 2031.
The so-called Poseidon Project will encompass two wind parks, Poseidon North and Poseidon South.
The proposed design incorporates 61 wind turbines featuring more than 20MW capacity each in one farm and another of 94 turbines of 15MW per unit in the other.
The wind farm is expected to generate around 5.5 TWh of electricity per year, which corresponds to the annual electricity demand of about 1 million households.
