Massive 128kg Ocean Fish Caught in Taiwan Waters
128kg Sunfish Captured in the Taiwan Strait
On Sunday, September 5, fishermen unknowingly captured a huge and rare 128kg sunfish while they were in the Taiwan Strait trailing off the west coast near Chiayi County’s Dongshi Township.
Commonly referred to as a Mola, it is rare to be found in the Taiwan Strait as it’s usually sighted off the east coast of the nation.
The fish was then delivered to the Dongshi Fish Market where merchants bid on the huge catch, ultimately selling for NT$20,000 (US$724).
