USCG to convene public hearing into the loss of the Seacor Power
Coast Guard to consider evidence related to liftboat capsize in the Gulf of Mexico.
The United States Coast Guard has announced that it will hold a formal public hearing to examine the evidence it has gathered relating to the capsize and loss of the Seacor liftboat Seacor Power off the coast of Louisiana earlier this year.
The hearing will be held at the Courtyard Marriot Hotel in Louisiana from 08:00 CDT on weekdays from 2nd August to 8th August. All sessions will also be livestreamed at https://livestream.com/uscginvestigations.
The Seacor Power capsized on 13th April 2021 approximately seven miles south of Port Fourchon, Louisiana, with 19 crewmembers aboard. Six crew were rescued and six were recovered unresponsive from the water. A six-day search was unable to find the remaining seven crewmembers.
